These are some easy recipes for kids to start learning to bake with! Home made biscuits was the first recipe I made when I was a little girl. Enjoy, and serve these delicious recipes to your family!

HOME MADE BISCUITS

You need:
2 c. whole wheat flour
2 c. unbleached flour
2 tblsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
1 1/2 c. whole milk

Heat oven to 400.
In large bowl sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in butter with pastry blender, or a fork.
With a fork, add milk and mix until dough forms a ball. Knead.
Roll out on floured surface until 1/8 inch. Cut with any fun shaped cookie cutters!
(with help of a parent) Place shapes on a cookie sheet, and put in oven. Set timer for 12 minutes.
 Serve while hot, tastes especially good with butter melted on it! Makes alot of biscuits.




FRUITY SMOOTHIE

you need:
frozen strawberries
frozen blueberries
plain yogurt (not 'non fat')
1/2 c. water

(With help of a parent) Plug in blender.
Pour in water, then some yogurt.
Add some strawberries, and blueberries.
Blend smoothie until fruit is crushed. When smoothie is all blended, pour into cups.
Makes 4 glasses of fruity smoothie. Enjoy!
